Check out this crowd! What the heck?
This is the biggest we've seen at the whole show! What are they all so excited about?
"I got a feelin' there's a miracle due, gonna' come true, comin' to me...
Could it be? Yes, it could.
Something's coming, something good,
If I can wait!
Something's coming, Yes I know what it is,
And it is
Gonna be great!"
It's the triumphant return of Jane' to the US! And it's around the corner...
Who are they, you may ask, and why am I so excited that I am breaking into show tunes???
Jane' is one of the world's oldest, established brand of prams and car seats. They began in 1932 in Barcelona, when Manuel Jané Vidal proudly created a pram that folded for his baby son, Ramon. This was three decades before Owen Maclaren patented his folding buggy!
Well, long story short, people loved the design, and urged Mr. Jane' to make more. He did, and soon they were best-sellers at one of Barcelona's leading department stores. The demand for them couldn't keep up with the supply. And the rest, as they say, is history. I love the fact that Jane' is still family owned. The handsome young man you're about to meet is none other than Manuel's great-grandson, Axel.
And on a personal note, the Jane' Powertwin long held the title of favorite tandem in Strollerland, even before they were sold in the US. Our crazy group loved them so much they shipped them over themselves, at their own expense, from Europe. They were distributed in the US briefly, and I got the chance to see why they were so popular.
I took these pics in 2005! It's the original StrollerPrince, and his best friend, in the Jane' Powertwin. They look pretty big in it, but I could still push it easily with one hand. It maneuvered so nimbly in even the narrowest of aisles.
And then, you could quickly fold it and toss it into the back of the car.
It was so light and easy to lift in and out; it was a dream.
Initially, Jane' will launch with these three models.
The Nanuq buggy, which has adjustable handlebars and stands folded,
The absolutely drop dead gorgeous reversible Rider,
And then, wait for it, wait for it, the Trider 3-wheel jogger, WITH a reversible seat, whoo hoo!
Mr. Axel Jane' and Mr. Alfredo Molina graciously walk us through all three.
A bassinette is also going to be available for both the Rider, and Trider.
It folds completely flat for storage!
It will be out in September, for $169.
And stay tuned for more indepth reviews from me, of all three! And, GIVEAWAYS! Yeah!
"The air is humming, and something great is coming!" (West Side Story; Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim).
