Baby Jogger City Mini 4-Wheel Stroller Review

Baby Jogger City Mini 4 wheel Stroller Review

Baby Jogger has graduated! The City Mini will now be sold in the US with 4 wheels, in addition to the popular 3-wheel model, which we reviewed previously.

The 4-wheel version has been sold in Europe for the past 3 years, which is the same amount of time it has taken SP 2.0 to get his degree.

It's a great stroller for graduates, since it holds up to sixty-five pounds!

And that's something you can hang your hat on!

The seat size is very generous on the City Mini 4. And there's a universal accessory mounting bracket so that you can easily add a napper bar, snack tray, or car seat adapter.

Check out the coverage! The canopy is so big it has to have TWO peekaboo windows!

The recline is done with a drawstring, and it goes pretty far back. The handle doesn't adjust (although it does on the GT), but it's pretty high anyway.

The basket is scooped out, for easy access. I was able to fit a lot of graduation goodies in there--a half gallon of apple juice, paper plates and cups for the whole class, cookies, and little jars of bubbles for everyone! And there's a big net pouch on the back for even more storage.

So in terms of size, the seat is a little deeper and taller than the CM 3. It's also three pounds heavier and $10 more, due to the extra wheel. But, it's a little smaller and lighter than the CM GT. That's the air tire version that we also reviewed previously.

I've been running it around the SQ Obstacle Course for a couple of months. I would say that in terms of outdoor use, it's between the CM3 and CM GT. Four wheels are easier to go up and down curbs, and hills, and stairs. It's still a good idea to lock them in these situations.

But they are made of EVA foam, so they aren't as rugged as the air tires on the GT.

The CM 4 has the ridiculously easy fold that BJ has become famous for. And it folds very compactly, like the other City Minis. There's an auto lock to keep it closed, too.

It's so versatile and simple to use that it's very practical as a travel stroller. Can you imagine being all stressed out in the airport scanner line, and now you have to fold your stroller under the glare of TSA?

With the BJ CM 4, all you have to do is yank up the center strap, and throw it on the belt!  Summer wonder!

At $259, the new CM 4 is easy on the wallet, too. So you won't feel totally wrecked if the airline wrecks it.

We tip our hat to the new BJ CM 4!
