ThrowBack Thursday-- i'coo Pico 4

This is the i'coo Pico 4.  I chose these colors because I thought it completed the "cool" look. Seemed to match the hi-tech, shiny frame. The details are AMAZING, starting with the obvious shiny mudguards. It was an interesting design choice, because one usually associates the little fenders with prams. And this is clearly not a pram. In fact it is a great choice for someone who doesn't like the "jogger" look of 3-wheelers, nor the traditional look of a carriage, yet still needs something that can handle typical outdoor situations pretty well.

ThrowBack Thursday-- Mia Moda Cielo and Libero

Mia Moda

Like Silver Cross, "Mia Moda" features an entirely new line-up, of a half a dozen different models. But Mia Moda doesn't have the pedigree of a century-old British icon. They are both made in China, but Mia Moda was conceived in Wyommising, PA, by Kevin Gallen. The line made it's inital debut at the "2007 BIG Stroller Roll-Out"! Their slogan is "My life, my way, my style", and they do try to cover all the bases. There's a reversible, a swivel 3-wheeler, a lightweight umbrella, and the two that I chose to review, the Libero and Cielo.

Cielo:
NBC came out to interview me last week, and everyone loved this model. We jokingly called it "The

The ABC Adventure Buggy, by Phil and Ted's

It's ThrowBack Thursday Time!

Is it a Mountain Buggy? A Valco? No, it's an "ABC Everest Twin", courtesy of Phil and Ted.They are the Father/son team who founded "Phil and Ted's Most Excellent Buggy Company", home of the ever popular Kiwi E3. Yes, they are from New Zealand. Who else but the charming Kiwis could pull off a name like that? Anyway, Phil and Ted are no longer with Phil and Ted's. They now head up the "Adventure Buggy Company", or "ABC." They came up with the orignal "Explorer", in which a single buggy has a toddler seat added on behind it. Their latest idea, is to stick the toddler seat on TOP of the canopy. You have to use your imagination, since I only have the SBS, but take a look at this, and imagine your toddler sitting up top:

Back to School Blues

How do you feel about going back to school? Not enough summer fun? Glum, bummed?

Too much registration paperwork--3 kids at 3 different schools! Ditto--too many clothes, books, and school supplies to buy!
Not to mention haircuts and doctors and dental check-ups (and facial and pedicure if you have a teen girl).

Wait, this is a rip-off! There's still officially another month of summer left? Why is school starting 2/3 of the way through? Whatever happened to Labor Day being the last big huzzah?
I need more beach time! More swimming and sailing and surfing! More parks and bike rides and lazy summer strolls! More trips and travel and zoos and theme parks!
OK, not handling this well. I love summer. I love these lazy days. And this summer has been WAAY too short. We tried to do as much as we could in the condensed amount of time, but then that kind of defeats the whole "lazy days" concept.

I NEED this article! It supposedly has tips for getting through! What do you think?

Happy 90th Birthday to Stan Chambers!

Gerry Ruben once told me he believed Stan was an angel sent from Heaven to help KTLA, lol! He was certainly an angel to me. He always had time to chat, and was so pleasant. He was excited to hear my name when we first met, because that was his first wife's maiden name. And he was equally thrilled that I was a Trojan like him, lol! He retired three years ago, at the age of 87. Which means he worked at KTLA for 63 years! Happy belated birthday Stan, to someone too good to be true! We are all so much better for having known you.
